Meet Mitch – Final Year Apprentice at JC Construction 🔨

Mitch is in the final year of his apprenticeship and is all about learning and becoming the best builder he can be. He loves being part of a big crew where there’s always someone to pick up tips and tricks from.

His favourite stage of a build? The cladding, when the project starts to really take shape and match the drawings on paper.

Off-site, Mitch spends his downtime either in the garage working on personal projects, checking out new restaurants, or keeping active with exercise. 🛠️🍴💪

And if he could eat one meal every day? A good steak, every time. 🥩👌

Ryan’s a qualified carpenter who loves the hands-on learning that comes with building. For him, the best part is working alongside his mates and watching everything come together as a team.

His favourite stage of a project? The finishing touches , when all the hard work pays off and everything looks sharp.

Weekends are all about live sport, family time, and a bit of socialising to keep the balance. ⚽🏉

Fun fact: Ryan can hold his breath the entire way across the Rakaia Bridge… that’s some lung power! 😅🌊

And if he had to choose one meal every day? Big Mac tacos. Don’t knock it till you’ve tried it. 🌮🍔

Meet Nick – Leading Hand at JC Construction 🔨

Nick’s one of our talented carpenters and says the best part of the job is working alongside a great bunch of lads every day. His favourite stage of the build? Standing frames ,nothing like seeing a project go vertical.

When it comes to weekends, Nick reckons kids are the weekends and downtime… any parents out there will relate! 👨‍👧‍👦 But when he gets a chance for himself, he loves grabbing a coffee and heading out to Pound Road to watch the “big birds” take off. ✈️

His all-time go-to meal? Cheesecake. All day!

Harry’s kicking off his career in the trade as an apprentice and reckons the best part of the job is the variety ,no two days are the same, and there’s always something new to get stuck into.

His favourite stage of a build? Standing frames and plumbing them up ,hands-on, rewarding work that brings the structure to life.

Weekends for Harry are all about hockey, golf, and a couple of cold ones with mates. 🍻

Go-to feed? Steak, chips, salad, and plenty of mushroom sauce. 🥩👌

Meet Luken – Foreman at JC Construction 👷🏽‍♂️

As a Foreman, Luken takes pride in leading the team on-site and working closely with top-notch project managers to keep things running smoothly. He thrives on the action and responsibility that comes with the role.

His favourite stage of the build? When the first lot of frames arrive ,things ramp up fast, and the visual progress is seriously satisfying.

Outside of work, Luken's all about family time with his young crew at home. And if he gets a rare moment to himself, you'll find him out on the golf course. 🏌🏽‍♂️

Fun fact: He’s not just a gun on the tools - he’s also a qualified professional trainer. 💪🏽

Go-to meal? Chicken schnitty, fries, salad and a good hit of gravy. Can’t beat it. 👌🏽

Meet Jimmy – Site Manager at JC Construction 👷‍♂️

As Site Manager, Jimmy thrives on seeing a project through from start to finish ,there’s nothing better than standing back and admiring a job well done.

His favourite tasks on site? Pitching roofs and working with timber cladding ,hands-on, technical, and satisfying work that makes a big visual impact.

Outside of work, Jimmy enjoys quality time with his kids, Mila and Louie, sneaking in the occasional round of golf, and catching a good game on TV. ⛳🏉

A little-known fact: As a kid, Jimmy battled a rare spinal infection that left him temporarily paralysed ! He had to relearn how to walk. Safe to say, he’s one tough bloke. 💪

And if there’s one meal he could eat forever? Pork belly with crackling. No question. 😋

When he’s off the tools, Regan’s all about the outdoors:

Meet Cole – Qualified Carpenter at JC Construction 🔨

Cole’s one of the legends on site bringing good energy and great banter to the team every day. For him, it’s all about working hard in a solid crew and enjoying the good vibes along the way.

His favourite parts of the job? The detailed finishing work and cladding , especially when cedar’s involved.

When he’s off the clock, Cole’s making the most of life with fishing, freediving, beach walks, watching sport, and spending quality time with his daughter. 🐟🌊

Fun fact: Cole holds the (unofficial) JC Construction record for catching the smallest fish on a team work do. 🎣

If he had to eat one meal for the rest of his life? Lamb pitas all the way.

Meet Jesse – 2nd Year Apprentice at JC Construction 🏗️

Jesse might be the youngest on the team, but at well over six feet tall, he’s also the tallest , and proudly goes by the nickname “Peanut.”

He’s in his second year as an apprentice and loves getting stuck into the build while forming solid friendships (and keeping the banter flowing) with the crew.

His favourite part of any project? Cladding and finishing work ,when all the pieces come together and the end result starts to shine.

Weekends are for rugby, pub sessions with the boys, and keeping the social side of life strong. And if you’re wondering who’s calling Jase when he’s running late in the morning...it’s probably Jesse, just checking in with his signature cheeky charm. 😅📞

His dream meal on repeat? KFC, no doubt. 🍗

Ryen has been with JC Construction since the early days and was one of the very first team members to come on board. He’s recently wrapped up his apprenticeship and is now thriving in his role as a qualified builder.

What he enjoys most? The responsibility ,whether it's mentoring the younger apprentices or figuring things out on his own. His favourite stage of a build is standing frames and trusses ,watching the structure take form never gets old.

Outside of work, Ryen makes the most of his downtime playing rugby, snowboarding up the mountain, or heading off on 4WD trips - rumor has it he even saved Jase and pulled him out of the river once! 😂 .. . And if he had to eat one meal every day? It’s the Zinger Box, hands down. 🔥
